How old do you have to be to get pierced?
You must be 18 years old with proper identification in order to get pierced by yourself. ID forms we can take for adults are as follows: State ID/Drivers License, Passport, Tribal ID, or Military ID. No matter the form your identification MUST be current, we cannot take expired IDs without the accompanying renewal paperwork.

What information do minors need to be pierced?
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for their piercing.
We follow the Minnesota Health Department's guidelines so we REQUIRE the following information to pierce you: Minor's Photo ID (can be a school ID or portal log-in screenshot), Birth Certificate for the minor, and parent's ID. The parent's name needs to appear on the birth certificate for us to be able to take it. If you have a legal guardian or have addition questions please call the studio!

How soon can a new piercing be submerged in pools, lakes, or oceans?
We strongly recommend that you wait at least two months after getting a piercing before going into pools, lakes, oceans, or baths. This is a safety measure to help mitigate chance of infection.

Can I walk-in or do I need an appointment?
​We take walk-ins 7 days of the week so we are always available! However, Hannah Lee and Adrianna take limited appointment bookings which can be found on our "booking" page on our website.

Do you offer dermals?
Yes we do with our piercer Emily, she takes them by appointment on Fridays and Saturdays. For dermal piercings please call ahead to schedule with our staff, we do not offer these as a walk-ins. Emily can be reached at piercingsbyembk@gmail.com or through her DMs at piercingsby.em on instagram!

Do you offer tattoos?
Generally no, however we occasionally host guest tattooers. You can follow us on instagram to stay updated on if/when we have guest tattooers! We LOVE recommending our besties over at Grand Ave Tattoo for walk-ins and appointments, as well as the folks at Weird Ink Society for appointment based tattooing!

Can I bring my own jewelry?
For sanitary and safety reasons we do not allow for initial piercings with outside jewelry. However for a healed piercing we are happy to help you install your own jewelry with a small service fee (usually $5-$10 or more depending on the number of piercings)!

What metals are your jewelry made out of? What companies make them?
We only stock the following metals regularly: titanium, niobium, 14k yellow gold, 14k white gold, and 14k rose gold. Our primary brands we stock at Hail Mary are: Neometal, Industrial Strength, Anatometal, Junipurr, Jewelry This Way, Tether, Buddha Jewelry Organics, Jimmy Buddha Designs, and Tawapa.
